Common yet important

The Eastern cottontail is an important species to northern Michigan as it feeds on a variety of plants and helps scatter seeds, aiding in maintaining biodiversity of forested, prairie, and other habitats. Known for their little white tail that resembles a cotton ball, these rabbits are extraordinary at blending in to their surroundings.
